What is Media Padlock Viewer?
The Media Padlock Viewer is an application necessary to view media files protected with Media Padlock in .MPLOCK format.
Media Padlock is an affordable and non-intrusive software that helps protect your digital content (PDF, video, audio, Word, PowerPoint…) from unauthorized access or use. It includes its own secure built-in PDF viewer, video player and so on, and provides different licensing features for your media files.
Digital content protected with Media Padlock cannot be viewed in standard media player applications. Thus, you have to use the straightforward app named Media Padlock Viewer.

Additional Requirements
The following component may be required depending on your Windows version:
✔️ For Windows 7 and 8 users, Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime may be needed to play audio, image and/or video files. This free Windows component is probably already installed on your computer through Windows Update. Media Viewer Padlock will automatically inform you if the WebView2 Runtime is not available. In that case, you may download the missing component on its dedicated page at Microsoft.
How to use Media Padlock Viewer
You can either:
- Start MediaPadlockViewer.exe. You will be prompted to select the .MPLOCK file you want to view.
- Alternatively, you can drag and drop the .MPLOCK file directly onto the main window.
- If you used the installer, you can also double-click on a .MPLOCK file in Windows Explorer to open it directly.

That’s all. All commands are intuitive and do not require any extra knowledge.
How to uninstall Media Padlock Viewer
If you use the portable edition, there was no installation, so just delete the folder that contains the unpacked files.
If you have the Windows Installer edition, open the 'Control Panel' app of Windows. Once the Control Panel window is open, navigate to 'Programs' and click on 'Uninstall a program' under the 'Programs and Features' section. In the list of installed programs, search for 'Media Padlock Viewer.' Once you find the application, right-click on it and select 'Uninstall' from the context menu. A dialog box will appear asking you to confirm the uninstallation; click 'Yes' to proceed. The uninstallation process will now begin, and it may take a few moments to complete. Once finished, the Media Padlock Viewer application will be removed from your computer, and you can close the Control Panel window.
